Animation Artist & Illustrator

Joel Parod

I was active in my illustration career from 1993 - 1996, and have done some here and there since. Here's a collection of my student and professional illustrations that have been published on various forms of media for clients including St. Martins Press, San Jose Mercury News, Interact Magazine, Stern Magazine (German), Urth Mother Music, Microsoft, Ohio Health, DisneyToon Studios, Original Force and more.

I was fortunate to win prizes and be published in two student New York Society of Illustrators competitions in 1993 and 1994 for  two scratchboard illustrations. My first book cover, "The Paris Edge", was published in the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators in 1995 and was part of the group exhibition in downtown Los Angeles along side many of my contemporary illustration heroes.

In the Tinker Bell Illustration, I painted the characters over gray 3D models, used a London background painted by Barry Atkinson, and gave it a  Drew Struzan treatment. The Duck Duck Goose illustration was painted over a drawing by Lauren Airiess. The 10 Lives poster was my concept and painted by me, and designed in collaboration with Patrick Mate, Mark Koetsier, and Tommy Kim.
